The run starts at Dobbies Garden Centre Braehead, (arriving at 10am and departing at 10.30am),we will head down the main M8 and A8, through Port Glasgow, Greenock and on to the A770 to Gourock. We will then go through Gourock, still on the A770, past the famous Open Air swimming pool, coming to the Western Ferries terminal, for our crossing to Dunoon.

The ferries are every 15 minutes, and the crossing takes cica 20mins. Fares are collected by the ferry personnel on board the boat. The fare is cica £21 per car plus circa £5 per passenger. This sounds expensive, but to get there by road the long way would cost at least £10!. Depending on the numbers on the run, we may not all get onto the same ferry, but we think this is not a problem, since the crossing is so short.
After Dunoon, we stay by the coast and head past Hunter’s Quay and then the A815, turning left onto the B836 up Glen Lea, past Glendaruel and onto he A886 up to Strachur for lunch at The Creggans Inn. There is a varied very reasonably priced menu.

After lunch we join the A815 again to Arrocher, over the Rest and be Thankful. We then travel down Loch Lomondside on the A82 to Loch Lomond Shores at Balloch.

We can have coffee etc at the cafe in the Frasers Store where the run will finish.
